The Hotel was inhabitated by byron Herman De Schubart, the Danish’s king minister, till the end of XVII century. He named the villa La Vedetta (i.e. look-out tower) for the beautiful landscape one could and still can admire from its terrace. Byron and Shelley too, charmed by the favorable position of Montenero, spent some years here.
